Care

Everyday care
Keep the routine gentle.
A wenwan walnut pair is a natural object you can get to know over time. A simple routine helps you pay attention to its condition without turning every session into a maintenance task.
This guide is for a pair supplied ready for hand-play. If yours has an unfamiliar finish, existing damage, or special preparation instructions, ask the seller about that condition before changing its surface.
Begin with clean, dry hands
Let your hands dry fully after washing. If you have just applied lotion, sunscreen, or another product, wait until you can handle the pair without transferring residue. Turn the walnuts gently and avoid gripping or pressing them together with force.
Use a soft surface beneath you while learning. Put the pair down whenever your hands need to do something else, and stop if the texture or movement is uncomfortable.
Brush lightly when needed
A clean, dry brush with soft bristles is a useful starting tool for loose surface dust. Check that the brush is free of grit, then work gently around the contours.
You do not need to follow a fixed brushing-to-handling ratio. Inspect the pair and respond to its condition. Avoid sharp picks, metal tools, and aggressive scrubbing; pause if the brush snags or you find material that will not lift easily.
Keep the pair dry and protected
Store the walnuts dry in a protective pouch or case, where they will not be crushed or struck by keys and other hard objects. Keep the storage clean and choose a place away from splashes and direct heat.
Do not soak or routinely wash the pair. If it becomes damp, do not seal it away wet or use a heater, oven, or hair dryer to rush the process. Contact the seller for advice about the exposure and the pair’s condition.
Let surface changes take their own course
Color and sheen may develop gradually, but a fixed result or timetable is not part of the routine. Avoid adding oils, dyes, household cleaners, or polish to chase a look you have seen online.
If you enjoy observing change, take comparable photographs in the same light. Our journal guide offers a straightforward way to keep a record.
Pause when something seems wrong
A new crack, persistent unusual odor, sticky residue, or unexplained surface change deserves attention. Stop handling and share clear photographs with the seller before trying a treatment. An image alone may not establish the cause.
These are real walnuts for adult hand-play, not food. Avoid them if you have a walnut allergy, and keep them away from young children and pets.
